Bodybuilding Contest Preparation and Our Mind
November 19, 2011 by admin · Leave a Comment
No matter what is is in life, our minds will play a major role in determining our success. Most of life is all mental and how we perceive it. The same goes for bodybuilding and contest preparation. During my preparation for Musclemania in Miami in 2010, along with the training I knew that spending time visualizing how I wanted my body to look.Visualizing the training, and then posing routine was all rehearsed in my mind long before the actual show.
Actually how my body looked at the show was not quite as good as I envisioned. I lost too much weight however that is for another blog post.
I was in better condition and had more muscle two to three weeks out from the show in my estimation and looking back at the photos. At that time I a had strong vision in my mind how I wanted my body to look and perform.
The training that goes into a competition is just one aspect of the total package that you need to grasp when preparing to enter a show. Its our mind that will determine our success or failures not only in the competition but in life in general.
Reading and studying the power that you possess with your subconscious mind I feel is a prerequisite if you want to achieve the success your are striving for.
Whether you are working out yourself for a show or hiring a personal trainer to help you compete you want to spend some down time each day envisioning your body and how you want to look and perform. If your trainer that you are more than likely paying good money too is not getting you involved in the power that you possess between your ears and working on daily visualization techniques with you, than I suggest you find another professional to work with.
What you visualize constantly your body will bring about. I visualized daily not only my workouts prior to getting to the gym but, as soon as I nailed down the music I was going to pose to, I began to rehearse daily my posing routine in my mind. Your body cannot tell the difference between what you are visualizing or whether you are actually physically performing.
You are programming your nervous system to perform the exact way you have envisioned in your mind how you are completing the task. That is why you want to dwell only on the results you want and not on what you do not want.
I suggest you pick up a book titled The Power of Your Subconscious Mind By Joseph Murphy and read it cover to cover.
You will find a wealth of information that will help you get the results you want from your training and assist you in nailing down your routine when you hit the stage.

How To Use Weight Training As Your Personal Business Card

When it comes to first impressions, we are all visual beings. Even though you cannot possibly judge someones character, or morality we judge someone by their physical being or prescence.
Someone that does not take care of themselves whether it be the type of clothing they wear or, their physical condition leaves a strong mark on our concious minds initially.
Your overall physical condition your weight, how tone you are, or how healthy you look in general is important not only in establishing personal relationships but, also in the new workforce in the 21st century.
This is where weight training and physical conditioning come into action.
Someone that has taken the time to train and eat properly show individuals that there is a sense of personal pride in yourself.
People admire someone that has taken the time to better themselves through personal care and fitness realted activites.
Your body is your personal business card. Everyone sees it. That first impression you make on someone can determine whether you get the job or not. If you work in the health profession, there is nothing worse then to look like someone that puts their personal health at # 45 on their list of priorities.
Your first impression just may be your last unless you are both menatlly and physically prepared.
Weight training and bodybuilding are one of the best ways I know to make that physical first impression your best.
Make everyday count. Remember your health is your true wealth, hit the gym hard, utilize weight and strength training to make you at your best physically.
